About
Bellatrix Aerospace develops electric and green propulsion systems for satellites and launch vehicles, including microwave plasma thrusters and a hydrogen-powered OTV named Chetak.
Products include the Arka Hall-effect thruster (xenon-fueled, high Isp), Jal microwave plasma thruster (water-fueled, experimental), and Rudra mono-propellant thruster (uses a green fuel as hydrazine alternative). Bellatrix also co-develops the Pushpak orbital transfer vehicle (OTV) – a hydrogen-fueled spacecraft to carry microsats between orbits. In Oct 2024 Bellatrix and NSIL signed a deal to integrate Pushpak OTV on ISRO launches for multi-orbit deployment. Bellatrix's acceleration of green propulsion has drawn $8M in Series A funding (June 2022).
