Skyroot Aerospace is India first private space launch startup. They built Vikram-S, the country first privately developed rocket successfully launched in November 2022 under ISRO IN-SPACe program.
Vikram-S (all-carbon composite solid rocket) was launched on 18 Nov 2022 from Sriharikota — marking India's first private rocket launch. Vikram-I (four-stage small-lift orbital rocket) achieved orbit on 18 July 2026 (mission Aagaman), making Skyroot the first Indian private company to reach space. Vikram-II will use a cryogenic upper stage targeting ~900 kg to LEO, with Vikram-III aimed at even heavier payloads.
